Body Positive Monday

Morningggggg lovesss,

So yesterday evening I posted a post that was very raw to me. I hope you read it. If not it’s going to be right before this one. Today’s quote is:

Love your body. I have big ass boobs and a flat butt but you know what I’m going to love me anyway. I also have stretch marks galore. But I’m going to love how God made me. I know it’s hard. Trust me it’s freaking hard. But love it anyway. It’s time we learn to love us for US.

Love you guys and I hope my quote helps you💕

XoXo 😘

To The Dark Skin Beauties

Morning loves. Happy Sunday!!

This post is for the girls that were told “Your pretty for a dark skin girl(s).”

Please like this post if you have ever been told that above. I HATE those seven words with a fierce passion. Why can’t I be beautiful because of my dark skin?

Growing up I was always made fun of because of my skin color. My siblings would call me “blacky” all the time due to the name calling I would grow up to hate my skin tone. I will never forget the time I was introduced to Coco Butter. I used that every day morning and night. About four months into using it my mother noticed my skin changing. She asked me what was going on with my face. I told her “I don’t know I’m just becoming lighter.” Around the six month mark she finally caught on to what I was doing by this time it was two late the damaged was already done. I had lights spots on my cheeks but the rest of my face was dark. Thus having me being called “two toned”. My thinking at that time was if I was lighter I would be beautiful. If I was lighter I would not be made fun of. If I was lighter boys would notice me.

In my haste to lighten my skin didn’t realize that you had to put it all over your face and not just on the areas you didn’t like. It took years for my skin to become back to normal. Even now its tough to find certain foundations.

I was not raised to love my skin until I got older and realized that my skin was not going anywhere. It is apart of me. Take this time to look into the mirror and see that beauty that is you.

If you take away anything from this post. Understand that YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. YOUR SKIN IS BEAUTIFUL. Your skin color does not determine if your  a pretty or not. I came across this video by Buzzfeed about dark skin and how people from various cultures go through this. Take a look at it. I have included it in bottom of this post.

Ps,

I love my skin 💜💜

Be Positive

Morning 💜

Happy Thursday.

Today I want you to say something positive about yourself. I noticed that I am a very negative person when it comes to myself. I never uplift myself.

So today uplift yourself. Say something positive. For me it will be that I am persistent. I never give up even when I want to.

You can write it on a post it to remind yourself that your amazing when you feel like your not.

Comment and let me know what your positives are. I would love to read them.

Xoxo,

Ebony 💜

We Are Perfectly, Imperfect!

No one knows what we go through as we struggle with our insecurities. It’s extremely hard. You dress a certain way. You do this. You  do that. Just so no one belittles you. People are cruel in this world. They will hurt you. No one has compassion anymore.

When people see that your changing or that your different they want to say things like; “You are stuck up!” “You think your better than everybody!” You know what?  “We are not stuck up. “We do not think we are better than anyone”. But you know what we are? “We are strong” “We are SURVIVORS!” This qoute is for all of the people who had to deal with bullying. Who had to deal with people putting your insecurities out in the open for others to laugh at. We worked hard to overcome this.

I’m so proud of you for coming so far. It’s hard work but you did it. You overcame the ridicule. You overcame the laughs. Your standing tall. Screw what they said about you. You know why? Because your BEAUTIFUL inside and out.

I whole heartedly believe God made you for his divine purpose. God gives us pain disguised as lessons. What your going through now or been through was to help others. Love who you are because you are a SURVIVOR💜

Overcoming My Insecurities,

Ebony Monae

ps,

You are Perfectly, Imperfect💖.
