📖One Step at a Time (Update)📖

It’s been so long since I have updated you guys on my book I am writing. I can’t believe it was almost a year ago that I had started writing this book. I have a few more chapters then it will be completed.

For the record writing a book is hard work. You have all these ideas in your head and when you get it down on paper it just doesn’t sound right. Then you have these moments were you can picture a scene so clearly and write about it so beautifully you shock yourself.

I’m so happy I took the leap and started writing. It was something I wanted to do with my best friend as she loves books just as much as I do, but it wasn’t something she wanted to do. I knew in my heart it was something that I needed to do.

I’m so glad I did do it. My story has gotten a lot of love from people all over the world. I have received some great feedback. It has motivated me to finish the book. It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there. I’m glad I did.

Thank you to my best friend for reading my book, for taking the time to edit and guide me I greatly appreciate it. Thank you for you unyielding belief in me. Thank you to the readers who have taken time out to vote, comment and read my words. To an a writer it means the world.

If your interested in my story you can find it on Wattpad.com. My username is Geekchick1998. My story is called One Step at a Time. Let me know what you think. I will greatly appreciate it.

Following her dreams,

NOVEMBER 9 Review!!

To all my book lovers it has been a long time since I have did a book review. Last week Colleen Hoover released November 9. I was in Colleen Hoover frenzy last week. LAST WEEK was pretty damn awesome week if I say so myself.  I will write the review then tell you about my awesome week (it all ties in I swear).

Without Further Adieu,

I AM IN LOVE WITH NOVEMBER 9. Colleen you have done it again. I go through so many emotions reading your books. November 9 was a deep read. One minute I am laughing, smiling then I am angry, crying and then back to laughing. It is most defiantly a emotional roller coaster. The twist and turns keep the reader interested.

When you find love, you take it. You grab it with both hands and you do everything in your power not to let it go. You can’t just walk away from it and expect it to linger until you’re ready for it.”
― Colleen HooverNovember 9

This book you had Benton and Fallon. One who wore her scars for the world to see and the other whose scars you couldn’t see. November 9th was a day that neither one would forget. It changed their lives in more ways then they can ever imagine. The beauty of this day was meeting each other and giving it a different meaning. With pain comes healing. They both had to heal from the traumatic events from November 9th. They both had to forgive each other. I think thats the hardest thing to do is forgive someone. I love how you made their love story different. Most books they fall in love over time because they are around each other, here they fall in love by meeting each other on one day every year for four years.

Colleen your an amazing writer. Your words move a person. They speak and inspire me. Thank you for writing such a heartfelt book. Thanks for giving your readers the true meaning of love or “insta love”.

Happy Reading!!!

Guys I literally did the ugly cry when reading this book and my friend has the videos to prove it (no I am not posting it, its UGLY). On a serious matter this book was an amazing read. Colleen writes about things a person would never think could happen. She makes you believe in love again. My heart has been broken to many times and I personally gave up on love. I was destined to be the cat lady.  Thank you Colleen for making me believe in love again.

SO HERE IS MY SURPRISE Drum roll please.

I got to meet COLLEEN HOOVER AND SHE SIGNED MY BOOK. It was an amazing day. My best friend and I got to meet her (Thats my best friend, thats my best friend). Colleen is funny as hell. I am so happy to got the chance to meet her. The audience got to ask her questions and she answered them.  This was my first book signing and it won’t be my last.

See you waited and now you got to read about about my amazing day.

Forever a Book Lover,

EbonyMonae

Book Review Making Faces by Amy Harmon

This book was more than five stars it was a 10 star book. I felt the characters pain, it was that intense of a book. I came across this book while I was looking for another book and I was immediately HOOKED. I could not put it down. I was moved by the authors words. I first I was thinking its going to be another Beauty and the Beast type of thing, but this book was so much more, held so much more. We have Fern, Ambrose the two main characters but we also have sweet Bailey (he was my favorite, I liked his take on life). Fern forever thought she was ugly just from overhearing one statement as a little girl and that forever changed her life. It goes to show you how much words can change your life. She really was beautifully on the inside and outside she just had to finally notice that for herself. Then we have Ambrose, he was the star of their little town. He was what people asked for in a hero. Then he goes off to war and watched his friends die. I liked how she wrote about him struggling with their deaths. It gave the book more depth. I think most readers can relate to what she was portraying with what both characters were going through.

The only thing that made me upset was Rita. I wanted more from her character, your friend died and it was time you stood up for yourself instead of running. She really pissed me off with that.

Great Book. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did reading it!!

Happy Reading!!

Confess Book Review

I recently finished reading the book Confess by Colleen Hoover.  Blown away does not even describe how I was feeling after reading this book. Colleen Hoover has such a way with words it is truly blessing.  As a reader she takes the reader to the place of her characters.  Owen and Auburn story was beautifully written.  It was detailed and connected in such away that leaves the reader memorized.  For my followers who likes to read please read this you will not be disappointed.

You can see my review on goodreads on the site below and also on here. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1213959069?book_show_action=false

“I’ll love you forever. Even when I can’t.” “I’ll love you forever. Even when I shouldn’t” (ugly cry)

BLOWN AWAY!!! I LOVE COLLEEN HOOVER!! This woman has a way with words. She can make you feel everything her characters are feeling. I was laughing and crying throughout the book. Her characters pain were my pain. Owen bless his heart has been through so much in such a short amount of time. Auburn I loved how you fought for what you wanted at the end, for too long you let others walk all over you and disrespect you. This book moved me. I fell in love with the love they had for each other. She makes me believe in true love and the power it wields. Don’t want to give to much away, but please read this book you will not be disappointed.

This book was an amazing read. I finished it in one day. I am huge fan of your work. Every male character she writes about makes me fall in love with them. Keep writing please because I will read every book.

Happy Reading!!!!!!

Book Review for Again for the First Time!

As I have written before reading is one of my all time favorite things to do. When I was younger I always felt that I did not quite fit in with my family so reading was my escape. I used to love going to the Salvation Army with my grandma and finding books for twenty-five cent. I would read book after book. My mother was very strict with my sister and I so there was not much I could do but read. My head was always in a book. Now that iPad’s and Kindles came into existence my face is always on one of those things.

My new thing is reading books by authors that are not really known and trying to get their name known or just following a dream of theirs. Amazon is my number one place to get books by these self-published authors. I also love to review most books that I have read. Some people are die-hard reviewers and will have a two page review. If it is a good piece of literature I will keep it to either a paragraph or two. I will never leave a nasty review I believe in constructive criticism even if your story is bad as hell. Writing is hard as and I know because I am trying to write my own novella.

The book I have read this week was Again for the First Time by Raven St. Pierre.

Quote from the book:
“..without the rain, you’d never learn to appreciate the sunshine.”

I was just BLOWN AWAY. This love story moved me so much. I was crying and laughing with the characters. I felt like I was a part of their love story in a way.  The author did an amazing job with writing this book. Not only did she do wright an amazing story she also put in real life advice when it comes to love. This book made me analyze my stands on love. Lucca(LOVE THAT FREAKING NAME) and Lissette were perfect for each other. They both had things to over come and they worked at it together. I loved how the writing portrayed what they both were thinking and going through. The burdens they had were really strong and they carried this with them especially Lucca. Lissette she was this breath of fresh air for him. She smiled and laughed despite her own pain. She was quirky and hippie she was a beauty that did not even know how beautiful she was. Lucca was a sweet caring guy, he was strong when she needed him to be.

Her family was wonderful. I loved them, I loved how they did not like what she did but stood by her decisions and supported her. I don’t want to give away. Anyone reading this review pick up this book and give it a chance because this story will most defiantly move you to tears. The whole star-crossed lovers part of the novel really did that for me.

Take the time to read this book you because you won’t be disappointed you might actually learn something about love or yourself.

Happy Reading!!
