Accepting Myself 💕

Hey Loves,

This week I want us to practice acceptance of ourselves. This post is one of the realist ones I have written. I feel it’s time to.

This is me in 2011 at the age of 21.

You wouldn’t know it but I am struggling with body acceptance in this photo. I thought I was fat. I thought I was ugly. I wouldn’t never have my hair natural it had to be permed and blown silky straight.

Now this is the most recent full body photo I have. This was September 2017 at the age of 27.

This photo I am still struggling with body acceptance. I let go of some misconceptions I had about myself. I LOVE my natural hair. I don’t ever have it straightened unless I feel like it. I struggle to see the beauty in myself at times.

I struggle with acceptance of my body. Growing up it was hard. I fully believe loving oneself starts at home where your more comfortable with family. It was not like that for me. I was more developed up top than most girls. My mother would always bring that to my attention and put me down for it like I could control my genetics. She would buy me big shirts to

hide my breast and make me where them. I had to listen to negative comments about myself and my weight. Hearing negative thoughts all your childhood has great impact on who your are in your adulthood.

I’m at a age where I can’t blame my mother for it any longer. I understand it’s time for me to accept me for me. But it’s so damn hard.

Today I want to encourage men and woman to love you for you. I know it’s not easy but start small. Here’s some tips I suggest:

  1. Have your friends text you encouraging words everyday.
  2. Download Pinterest and find uplifting and encouraging wallpapers for your phone that you like.
  3. Have a mirror and a dry erase marker? If you do, write some encouraging words to yourself.
  4. Have post it’s and a sharpie? Leave stickies in hidden places so you can find them randomly.

Gabby quote is so inspiring. It’s time we love our bodies💜

One day I had to sit down with myself and decide that I loved myself no matter what my body looked like and what other people thought about my body. I got tired of hating myself. < em> -Gabourey Sidibe Let’s begin the journey of self acceptance together. It’s going to rough road but I am ready. Are You?!?

XoXo 😘,

Magnificent Transformation 💜

Morning Sunshines,

This quote is giving me all types of good vibes. I’m excited about the months ahead. I’m excited about about all the new beginnings I’m embarking on(more to come on a later date.)

Are you excited about what the next couple of months will bring? I hope you are. Previously this week we talked about focusing on you, speaking positivity into your life and letting shit go whether is people or feelings. I promise you if you do all of these things you will breathe much easier.

Now I’m encouraging you to open new doors for yourself. Start the groundwork for this transformation. Apply to that new job. Make that profile on a dating app. Step foot into a gym. Do what you feel you have to do for you to breathe easier.

I’m doing it right along with you. In the next few months I want to explore new things. Meet new people. Travel some. Really work on my business and books(ohh by the way I’m working on a new book so un click that link and tell me what you think🙃)

Blessing Upon Blessings,

EM💜

To The Dark Skin Beauties

Morning loves. Happy Sunday!!

This post is for the girls that were told “Your pretty for a dark skin girl(s).”

Please like this post if you have ever been told that above. I HATE those seven words with a fierce passion. Why can’t I be beautiful because of my dark skin?

Growing up I was always made fun of because of my skin color. My siblings would call me “blacky” all the time due to the name calling I would grow up to hate my skin tone. I will never forget the time I was introduced to Coco Butter. I used that every day morning and night. About four months into using it my mother noticed my skin changing. She asked me what was going on with my face. I told her “I don’t know I’m just becoming lighter.” Around the six month mark she finally caught on to what I was doing by this time it was two late the damaged was already done. I had lights spots on my cheeks but the rest of my face was dark. Thus having me being called “two toned”. My thinking at that time was if I was lighter I would be beautiful. If I was lighter I would not be made fun of. If I was lighter boys would notice me.

In my haste to lighten my skin didn’t realize that you had to put it all over your face and not just on the areas you didn’t like. It took years for my skin to become back to normal. Even now its tough to find certain foundations.

I was not raised to love my skin until I got older and realized that my skin was not going anywhere. It is apart of me. Take this time to look into the mirror and see that beauty that is you.

If you take away anything from this post. Understand that YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. YOUR SKIN IS BEAUTIFUL. Your skin color does not determine if your  a pretty or not. I came across this video by Buzzfeed about dark skin and how people from various cultures go through this. Take a look at it. I have included it in bottom of this post.

Ps,

I love my skin 💜💜

What Is It Like?

What Is It Like To Be You?

Morning!

Last night I was watching the ending of the movie The Help. Which is a good movie by the way. I hope you have seen it. Well in the movie Viola Davis character stated,  “No one ever asked me what is it like to be me?”

That profound statement stuck to me. What is it like to be you? BE ME? I would think that I had some profound answer to this question but honestly I do not. You know why? Because I never asked myself that question.

To my readers what is it like to be you? Do you have any profound answers? I would love to know. Leave a comment please and thank you. One thing I would suggest is to be honest with yourself. Sometimes truth hurts but it can also make you realize a lot of things in your life.

As always Be Inspired<3

UnF*** Yourself

Hey guys hope you got over your crazy Monday’s. It’s now Tuesday and we are one step closer to Friday.  I saw this picture on FB. FYI totally thinking of creating a FB page for my blog. Have you guys created one for your blog? If so how’s it going for you?

Anyways back to my post. When I first saw this picture I was like these people got to much time on there hands to come up with something like this, but then I thought more about the old me. The me before all that bullshit happened. The me where I was fearless, out-spoken, courageous, believing in rainbows, and not so jaded.

Life has a way of diminishing your light. It has a way of you loosing sight of yourself. I know I won’t ever be the person I was but I can take characteristics from that girl and put them with the person I am today.

To my readers. Don’t let life keep you from shining.

Don’t let anyone EVER stop you from being Great. You only have this one special life to live. Live it BEAUTIFULLY! If you think about someone you look up to, I can guarantee that they were ridiculed, mocked and also hated. Don’t let what others think of you put you down to there level. You are AMAZING.

Forever Vibrant

Today’s stands a women who is strong, resilient, confident.

I will continue to rise. I will continue to disapprove everything that’s said about me.

Take A Risk With Your Life!

Happy Monday💜

Over the weekend we lost a great man. Mohammed Ali. He was a remarkable man. He stood by what he believed in and he never changed who he was. He also never gave up.

Today I want to write a post about one of his famous quotes.

The quote above really spoke to me. Take risk in your life. Life is such a beautiful thing. It’s a blessing to be able to live. I am one of the many people that stuggle with taking risks. I am a person that loves my comfort zone. If we continue to stay in our comfort zone we will not accomplish much in our lives.

Take a risk in with your life. Do something that your scared to do. Have that faith in yourself and just leap. If you fail at least you know that you tried. Trying is better than regret.

Being Courageous,

Ebony Monae

ps,

Have the courage to take the risk. Be bold, be fierce and don’t let fear stop you.

Continue To Climb!

Good Morning, it’s a beautiful day in New York Today. So I’m enjoying the sunshine.

Today’s post actually shows the picture of my Graduation Cap.

The best view comes after the hardest climb.

This quote described what I went through during my last year of obtaining my undergraduate degree. I was plaqued with health problems and faced financially diffculties.  It was hard. I was depressed. I felt like at the age of 25 that my life was over. I kept asking God why are these health problems happening to me?  It was one of the most difficult times in my life.

In the end I overcame it all because I got to walk across that stage on Sunday. My family was cheering me on from the sidelines. They were my biggest supporters. When I doubted myself they were there to remind me that if I put my mind to it I will achieve greatness

My thoughts to you on this morning. Is continue to climb. It may be hard right now. You may feel like giving up. You may feel all alone. Don’t give up. Keep climbing. Your not alone. God is always by your side right along with your amazing support system.

Achieving Greatness,

Ebony Monae💜

Nana I did this for us. I love you.
